Sailability is a registered charity that provides an opportunity for those with disabilities to sail. The sailing group is organised and run by disabled members with able-bodied helpers.
The group sail every Thursday afternoon from April to October and welcome new members, both sailors and helpers. Any level of ability from novice to expert can come along to any of their meetings.
Single handed 15ft Challenger Trimarans are used by the group, together with 2 double handed Access 303 Dinghys and a 22ft Drascombe Longboat that can be sailed by a group of members.
The club have a specifically designed widened jetty for disabled users with an attachable electronic hoist. Another hoist designed for disabled sailors is used on dry land into the Trimarans. All specialist equipment is provided for those who want to sail, so just turn up!
