‘During his school life, Lee was known as an angry young man, frustrated with a lack of opportunities in his life. He had been constantly bullied at school because of his quick temper. In the last year Lee has learned that he could not get away from his aggressors and has had to re-think his strategy about life and how to get on. Lee is now doing voluntary work and eager to help others, whilst on the residential Lee had struggled at times being with a new group and lacking in confidence. Through the work of the instructors and staff at clip especially Bob, Lee was able to develop positive relationships with adults and express himself through photography and later with the graffiti workshops. By taking ownership and becoming an individual rather than these activities being ‘whole group’ challenges where he at times struggled to fit it.’

'Stefan has been out of mainstream education for a few years now and was referred to the U project by Kate Valler the in school support at Sawtry, he had already applied to the Army and been accepted but they had told him he needed to build up confidence and social skills. When he started the project he had his own aims which was good. As he had not been in education for so long he did not know any of the young people on the project. He adapted very well in getting to know them, and participated in all of the activities on the residential with no hesitation and was encouraging other members of the group to give it a go. I think he benefited greatly from the project and improved his social skills and social confidence in being around others. He has now gone off to the army to do his basic training and I have every confidence in him that he will succeed well in the Army.'
