Youth Courses & Holiday Clubs
Learning to sail can be the start of something new and exciting. This beginner course will take you through the basics. During the two days you will learn how to rig the boat and turn round safely. Stage 1 and 2 courses can be linked into a combined course over four days. Please bring packed lunches for both days. If none of these dates are suitable this course can be completed through Personal Tuition
Now you have got to grips with the basics, it's time to improve on those skills. These courses are run over 2 days, giving you the chance to improve on the skills you already have and prepare yourselves for the more advanced modules. Stage 1 and 2 courses can be linked into a combined course over four days. Please bring packed lunches for both days This course can be taken as Personal tuition if none of these dates are suitable
A chance for the whole family to try a sailing taster session all together in a selection of our boats. Session are for a morning from 09.30am to 12.30. Groups must include at least one child under the age of 16. Please be aware that children aged under 8 may not be able to take part in all activities (see above).
A chance for the whole family to try a paddlesports taster session using a variety of different canoes, kayaks or sit on top kayaks. Sessions are a half day, from 09.30 hours to 12.30 hours. Groups must include at least 1 child under the age of 16. Please be aware that children aged under eight may not be able to take part in all activities (see above).
We are delighted to support candidates in achieving their DofE Gold Award by offering an activity based residential experience. This involves spending five days and four nights away from home with like minded people you've never met before. It's a very exciting and fulfilling experience. As part of the experience we are able to offer a National Governing Body award in one of the following activities:sailing, paddlesports or climbing. Which one you choose is up to you!
This multi-activity Discovery Club is for young people aged 8 to 16, for those who would like to try new activities, develop existing skills, meet new friends and have fun! Discovery Club runs on selected days during school holidays from 8.30am until 5.00pm. During the course of the day young people will have the opportunity to experience both land and water based activities, however please note that our activities, due to their nature, are sometimes dependant on the weather conditions and are therefore subject to change at short notice. Discovery Clubs can be booked for 1,2,3,4 or 5 days – please specify which days you would like at the time of booking on your booking form, along with the age of your child. Children can be dropped off between 8.30am and 9am, activity sessions start at 9am and the day will end at 5pm, ready for you to pick your children up between 5pm and 5.30pm. Learn how to survive in any condition utilising a variety of methods Half day course Age 10 to 15
Participants get to make bowls, spoons and also making art using hot embers and sharp tools including knives and saws. Age 10 to 15 Half Day Course
Learn a variety of practical and everyday skills for fire lighting including hints and tips, tinder, flint and steel and grading the wood. Groups are shown basic skills before being set a fire lighting challenge. Half day course Age 10 to 15
Learn to cook on an Open Fire, foods ranging from Muffins in Orange, Chocolate Bananas and Woodland Stew. Half day course Age 10 to 15
