Hundreds of disadvantaged young people are being offered the chance to take part in various activities at the centre this winter after we’ve received funding from the Adventures Away from Home Fund. This is offering fully funded residential and day visits to groups of under represented young people before 31st March this year.
The Charity secured £1.5 million from the Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) to support organisations across England to deliver outdoor learning experiences to about 7500 young people. The places have been made available to groups such as young people with special education needs (SEN) young carers and looked after people, aged 11 to 18. It is hoped that offering this opportunity to these groups will help the young people to develop important life skills like team building and resilience.
