This week, Team GWC were honoured to attend the inaugural Cambridgeshire County Council Spotlight Awards, an event acknowledging the fantastic work done by colleagues across the Council, supporting our vision to become a greener, fairer and more caring Cambridgeshire.
Grafham Water Centre was nominated for the Climate and Nature Award, recognising our work implementing various strategies to help make the centre more sustainable, including planting wildflower areas, reducing plastic waste, and creating herb and vegetable gardens for the cafeteria – helping residents learn about the importance of climate friendly practices.
While we did not win, it was a pleasure to be part of such a special occasion, acknowledging the significant impact our colleagues are having County wide.
We would like to extend our congratulations to Marianne Porter and Philippa Cranwell-Hayes and the Early Years Childcare and School Readiness Service, the Highly Commended and Winners respectively in our Category.
