Day Visits
"I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees"
Henry David Thoreau
A day visit to GWC is a great way to build rapport, support the curriculum and reward your group / class / year for all their hard work.
A fun day learning outdoors will inject enthusiasm and energy into your young people, giving them a better understanding of themselves and others. Even excellent classroom teaching is enhanced by good quality learning outside the classroom.
A day visit works well if budget or time prevents a group coming on a residential trip to GWC. Some groups also use this as an opportunity to introduce younger pupils to adventurous activities in the years preceding a residential trip with us.
Our day programmes can be tailor made to support any aspect of the curriculum or group work. Your day can also be themed, our Pirate Days are really popular and work well for younger age groups.
The following activities are available for a day visit;
- Climbing
- High Ropes
- Low Ropes
- Archery
- Sailing
- Canoeing
- Kayaking
- Raft building
- Orienteering
- Grafham Challenge
- Initiative and communication exercises
