Learning to make a bed, being responsible for their own belongings, sitting at a table and eating their dinner with their friends, learning to set a table for dinner, keeping their bedroom tidy, eating a healthy meal, going to sleep at a reasonable time so that they wake up the next morning ready to have a positive day taking part in adventurous activities……these are just some of the many benefits of a residential experience at GWC.
Visiting teachers and leaders are regularly amazed how well they get to know their group and the different skills they see from their children.
GWC offers a range of outdoor and adventurous activities. We understand that every group that visits GWC comes with a specific aim in mind so all our programmes are tailor made. Our residential courses can be designed to focus on;
- Working with others, developing teamwork, communication and respect for others
- Improving own performance, self awareness, confidence, taking responsibility
- Problem solving, planning, leadership, creativity
- Developing Outdoor Activity skills
- Supporting other subjects in the National Curriculum
Our friendly and professional team will make the booking and planning process smooth. The team will work with you to create a unique programme that will support your young people.
During the residential we work in partnership with teachers and leaders to ensure a positive experience for all, where inspirational learning takes place. Each course is assigned a dedicated course director whose role is to monitor and help you achieve your aims. At night time we have an on-site duty instructor who is on call in the event of an emergency.
We provide comfortable accommodation, healthy food, committed staff, real activities and in a great location. Real life changing experiences at GWC create memorable experiences for young children; experiences that help prepare them for successful adult lives.
