Safeguarding Review

7th May 2024

On the 22nd March 2024 we had our safeguarding review. Our inspector closed with "Thank you for enabling my visit to Grafham Water Centre and for arranging for me to speak to a wide range of staff. It was very evident that there were tight safeguarding systems in place and a vigilant culture. Staff at every level was reflective and keen to continue developing good practice."

Statements related to our competence also included; "A culture of safety is evident across the organisation. Staff understanding policies, systems, induction and monitoring. Staff receive regular training and development. The leaders appear responsive.

Accident / incident data and reports are reviewed to identify trends or patterns. Staff report that they are regularly reminded to be vigilant.

They are encouraged to raise any concerns about processes, or procedures which may not be working as well as they might. They are expected to flag any concerns about pupils, or adults that arise. The DSLs discussed how a repeat booking was not taken from a group as there were some concerns that the group’s ethos and values may not align with those promoted by the centre."

We take safeguarding at Grafham Water Centre seriously, we want everyone to be able to enjoy their time at GWC and with these policies in place it gives everyone a safe environment to do so. It supports our staff in making the right decisions and remaining vigilant in all of their sessions.

We have attached the report below for you to look at.
